Smartstream 8.5

Hello!

I've just noticed that HP released Smartstream 8.5 (only on their website, no inplace-update at the moment). There are three new features mentioned:

- support for JDF tickets/files (but without any documentation)
- support for "manual sheet files" (?)
- automatic "zoom to legend" when using OCR

Pagewide firmware needs to be updated to v13 which is also available on HP's website. Without updating the PW's firmware, print-jobs fail to start due to file format problems.

Welcome to the world of Smartstream updates, yep you must update the firmware at the same time as the software, but only sometimes and there are other fixes that aren't mentioned in the release notes.

When you replace it on 1 computer, you need to replace it on all computers running smartsteam. They just had a release on HP's My Knowledge site about this
