I've been receiving the Blue Screen of Death on my 477dw pro with the code "B8F04F36". No attempts to reset the system have been successful, nor can I enter the MFG menu to print any tests. The printer stays ups for a minute or so, then shows me that code and the Power symbol.
There is no possibility of reflashing the firmware. It won't stay up long enough.
I suspect that the power spikes and sudden outages we were experiencing in our former home might have damaged something on the system PCA, but it's difficult to say, as there are no sources for what these codes mean that I've been able to find. I have another unit with different issues from which I could scavenge parts, or perhaps replace parts from my current printer, which was printing well before this.
HP would say to buy a new printer. I would respond, "Which Canon would you recommend?"
Can anyone offer any ideas as to which component is defective, based upon this code?
Much thanks!
