Retrieving Accounting Data
Does anyone know a way to retrieve the accounting data from an HP Pagewide 8000 automatically?

Sorry, but I don't know anything about the internal-auto-accounting features of HP PageWide XL equipment.
However, that said, you may want to consider asking someone at ARGOS (product: Sepialine) or ARC (product: AbacusPCR) about the software they've developed for accounting for, and for reporting, output generated on HP PW XL systems.
When I was active in the reprographics business, we had a very large "OnSite" business, where we provided wide-format systems to our customers, and, at all of our "OnSites", we installed software to track and report (i.e., to account for) output generated on the systems our customers were using. We did this specifically so that we could bill our customers on a project-by-project basis, so that our customers had that information to get reimbursed by their clients. Accounting for output is ESSENTIAL for those who want to operate SUCCESSFUL "OnSite" programs.
